Australia’s First Zero Carbon House

We recently had the pleasure of supplying KingKlip 700 and S-Rib Corrugated roofing for Australia’s first certified Zero Carbon House, built by TS4 Sustainable Living following their win in last year’s Zero Carbon Challenge competition run by the Government of South Australia.

The three-bedroom home based Lochiel Park was delivered by TS4 Living in just four months and has set the benchmark for affordable, environmentally friendly design and construction so future smart homes can be replicated and delivered Australia-wide.

Boasting a host of features, including a 7.5 star energy rating, solar power, state-of-the-art indirect evaporative cooling, bio-fuel heating, energy-efficient appliances and positioned to maximize solar-passive strategies, the house is purposefully built to combat the rising costs of living.

Our team is always keen to contribute to projects like the Zero Carbon House which strive to push the boundaries of existing design to deliver optimum efficiency and sustainability.

It’s certainly rewarding being able to deliver steel building products that accommodate such advanced design and project requirements.

The Zero Carbon house will be open for the public to explore on Sustainable House Day, 8 September up until the second week of October.
